Ward Vs Kovalev

Sergey Kovalev Vs Andre Ward, agreed for the end of the year. Ostensibly the biggest fight of the year I reckon

Who wins? Ward on points for me

Ward will win I think. Best boxer on the planet apart from GGG who he should face at some point down the line. That would be a great fight.

GGG is one of the most avoided fighters I can ever recall

Don't blame other fighters though considering he caves in pretty much everyone he fights face

Ward is a dire fighter to watch for entertainment purposes, but he'll be too clever for Kovalev. He'll throw about 50 punches all fight, with 90% either in a clinch that he's instigated or on the break from a clinch he instigated. All of them will land, and Ward will be awarded all 12 rounds by two judges, with the other one calling it a draw after accidentally dozing off during round three.

Badou Jack-Lucien Bute tomorrow night should be a decent scrap. Winner will face DeGale after he makes mincemeat of Porky on the same bill.

But unfair Horny, he's knocked out half the people he's faced in the last 4 years. Agree he's a very tactical boxer but so was Mayweather and people still paid to watch him.

Personally am looking forward to Povetkin/Wilder in 3 weeks, see if Wilder is the real deal or an orchestrated World champion. f*** knows why he's agreed to fight in Moscow though.

Wilder is 4/5 which is an amazing price.
He'll win by stoppage around the 8th

Kovalev threw it away last time, didn't do enough in the second half of the fight when he was ahead and lost it on a split decision, Kovalev knows Ward's as slick as slick can be but he ain't got the power to knock him out, but he knows he can definitely knock Ward out and that's undoubtedly what he'll be going for on Saturday, he dropped Ward with a shot that didn't even land properly in only the second round in the first fight.

I had Kovalev winning the last fight. Imagine it'll be another close one with Ward getting another gift.

Ward wouldn't have got the decision had Kovalev not done so little in the second half of the fight, saying that I had Kovalev just nicking it aswell, but with it being in America, against Ward and with three Americans judging he was never going to get a really close decision in his favour.

Ward wins by 8th round TKO.

Bulls*** stoppage, more controversy, at least three clear Ward low blows not called, Kovalev shouldn't have been complaining as much but it's hard not to when you're being hit in the bo****ks and the ref's doing nothing about it, Kovalev was badly hurt after a great right hand from Ward soon after one of the debateable shots, the fight was stopped after an obvious low blow, haven't seen a stoppage like that in a huge world title fight like that in a long, long time, it was dreadful.

Had it either level or Ward up by one at the time of the stoppage, HBO had Kovalev four rounds up after seven which is strange to say the least, but it looked like Kovalev was fading again in the second half of the fight and Ward would've won on points again.

Don't want to see a third fight but there will be calls for it after yet more controversy, Ward spoke almost jokingly after the fight about going up to cruiserweight, don't joke about it, do it, nothing else to achieve at 175lbs apart from possibly fighting Adonis Stevenson.

Agree with all of that.
Ridiculous stoppage considering there was multiple low blows.

Got to feel for Kovalev, could've easily won on points in the first fight now he's been done by a referee, where does he go from here?

Have a quick tune-up just to get the winning feeling back then fight Adonis Stevenson if Ward moves up?

But he's now got two straight losses and unfair TKO so I'm guessing a shot at Stevenson's WBC title ain't really on.

Just watched a replay, what a bull5hit decision

Cruiserweight for Ward next probably but it's such a boring weight category
