All the best to the only striker to get 20 plus goals in a season since the great Peter Kitchen - an often ignored fact.

Of which the official statement predictably doesn't mention...

36 goals in 99 Orient appearances, decent record, I'll applaud him for that, 22 of those goals came in an incredible five month spell, the rest of the time his goalscoring record was Ollie Palmer-esque but a good player nonetheless.

Sensible to let him go now for what is hopefully an OK fee as he was never, ever going to extend his stay past this season, Becchetti's wanted him out for a year anyway as he was on too much money, obviously the club's fault but Becchetti being Becchetti he punished the fans, the team and whoever the manager was at the time for that.

Fanx 4 evreefing!!

So between now and the end of the season Orient have to try and avoid relegation into the Football League with three senior strikers, Paul McCallum, Ollie Palmer and Jordan Bowery.

Maybe (a big maybe!) Wages that were spent on Simpson, along with the fee received , might be used for another player

Should have about 250k net out of the deal.
That invested correctly on 2 or 3 loans choosed by Edwards would probably keep us up.
Shame.

Hopefully this is Becchetti's 'Odubajo' moment like when Hearn sold Moses just before he sold up to pocket himself some extra cash.

The Moses money went into thru the LOFC accounts in 14/15 AFTER Becchetti took over.

Good luck, Jay. We haven't had many 20 in a season scorers in E10 the last couple of decades. Hope it's a decent payday out there for you. Now we'll see if FB really is refusing to reinvest in the team: Simpson of the payroll is a significant amount.

Great move for him. He's done alright out of it.
I suspect that we'll end up with nothing out of it, probably been hawked round to any club that could agree terms and take him off our hands. None of the English clubs linked with him even mentioned that they might not be able to come up with the transfer fee.

Paul McCallum has a great chance of getting to 20 goals though if he can stay fit. As the only striker who seems to know where the net is, he will be first choice for the rest of the games.
I'd really like Adeboyejo to be given a go now, potentially a player who could make a decent impact, but not been given much chance.

Yup. Which is why from an Orient point of view it wasn't sensible to let him go and we should have run down the contract and let him leave on a free.

Victor Adeboyejo and Cisak are the only two players left at the club to have played for us in League 1. Victor made his debut first.
