Cant believe Nolan's performance was one of the worse you've seen
probably a big over reaction on how our club has fallen in 30 months
by yourself..
I've seen worse from Hague, White, Hedman and Plasmati to name a
few and i could go on and on....

How do you know he'll be player/manager if he gets it? He's probably accepted that his legs are gone.

As for him possibly being County's next manager, oh what I'd give for a 48% win percentage right now.

I would wish him well but in the mess we are in at the moment with Notts just behind us, there is not a chance I am going to!

On a more pertinent note, I wonder if he will make an approach for Nicky Hunt?
I guess Hunt might know there is only an uncertain future here for any player, whereas at Notts he might end up as an assistant to Nolan. Would also mean going back up North (ish).

Certainly Nolan has enough mates out there to improve the side. Possibly the only time in the last two years we've looked defensively solid was under him.

He surely can't be playing, don't think he's been training with anyone and if he's been spending more time down the pub I'd expect him to be way off the pace. I get the feeling that towards the end even he knew him being in the side did not improve us, but he was forced to play by Becchetti.

Too much activity at Newport, Cheltenham and Notts Co. for my liking. Will there be any at all at Orient ?

Good point.

One of only a very small handful of current Orient players you'd probably like to stay until the end of the season.

I'm not sure how much him continuing to play for us once it was clear he was struggling was his choice & how much was down to pressure from above.

Either way, Becchetti's decision to relieve Nolan of management duties so he could concentrate on playing, when it was blindingly obvious the opposite was required, is a real contender for the most baffling of all FB's questionable moves as our owner.

Indeed. The subsequent "ankle injury" saga was both predictable & hilarious.

He was never in shape, and perhaps I think the motivation for him to get in shape must have been on the wane. He played at the top stadia all his career, so I wouldn't be surprised if there was an element of Lee Cook in there.

I think by the Barnet game it almost looked like he had been forced to play. The way he took himself off and Simpson off and basically surrendered the game was a bit of a veiled message, and I think that was the game where someone must have gone apeshit afterwards with Harrison (probably the closest guy to Nolan on the staff) being sacked.

Perhaps when Nolan gets the job he might say some more about his time here in more cryptic form.

I thought it was common knowledge that Nolan told Becchetti where to go after he passed messages down to the bench to make certain decisions, of which Hessenthaler was happy to do and Nolan not so happy so there was a big fall out about it which resulted in Nolan walking?

Under normal circumstances we'd have made the play-offs under Nolan, though Becchetti made it impossible to achieve despite stating all year he wanted promotion. He'll do well at Notts County if they bring players in between now and the end of the month.

He'll be in the Brisbane Rd dugouts in a month, then. Hope he gets a decent reception, but his new team don't rub our noses in the dirt.

I expect that Nolan will do a Kashkett. At the start he made the right decisions all the time. His starting elevens were spot on. His substitutions were spot on. I am told that he was told he had to play even when he realised that he wasn't doing the team justice. Only when Bechetti interferred did our form dip. I hope he does well. He deserves to after the shoddy treatment he got here. Yet another disgrace.. Only Cheltenham, Newport and Morecambe that are in more disarray than us can save us. Well done Bechetti for bringing this club to it's knees and running it in the worst possible way imaginable.

Cheltenham and Newport are signing players, so they may improve a bit.
