Best guess is that he thought it would be easy to spend a couple of million, get us into the Championship / Premier League in 2 seasons, and then PROFIT. Which was pretty stupid. And now he knows he is throwing good money after bad.

I think that once we got relegated he always had 2 seasons in mind as a maximum to get us promoted. Clearly not happening this year so I think hes had enough.

Literally nothing he has done has worked. If I was as bad at my job id be moving on.

Probably a mixture of most of those things.

He's dived in, wasted loads of cash on overpaid players, and installed underlings who are incompetent (Milanese, Gagliardi), all at further cost.

Probably then realised it took Hearn 20 years just to get us into the L1 play-off places. No doubt banked on an instant return to L1 after relegation; didn't happen.

Now got a disgruntled fanbase; and a poor team at the wrong end of L2.

If it was a plaything, he's probably tired of it. If he optimistically thought he could make quick cash; he's no longer under that hopeful illusion.

Appears to be a quitter with no man management skills. If I had failed in business like it I would be ashamed.

Combination I reckon. The brexit one is interesting and sort of went under the radar with everything else happening. He may have realised he soon wouldn't be able to bring in any Rob specials so has decided to pack it in!

We don't know for sure he has given up yet. Though all the indicators (staying away, not talking to the gaffer directly, no funds for new recruits, even less comms from him & the minions than before, other businesses dead ducks) suggest he probably has.

Is it wrong to start feeling sorry for him. I mean everything he touches turns to keech and he must be demoralised. Where I used to work if a boss was a bit of a failure they used to get a personal coach in to work with him and it often worked.

He gave up because of the protest. He felt we were ungrateful, when he has brought players in, spent millions etc etc. The fact under his stewardship we have fallen like a stone from being a very good league 1 side to a team with one foot in the conference, seems to have passed him by

I just wish he would sell up, and go and take all his yes men with him

To see an enemy humiliated gives a certain contentment, but this is jejune compared with the highly blent satisfaction of seeing him humiliated by your benevolent action or concession on his behalf. That is the sort of revenge which falls into the scale of virtue.

The idea that "he's realised he's rubbish" suggests he possesses some self-awareness and humility. Something for which there is literally no evidence.

I reckon he's done his money, or his mum's and uncle's money. There is no evidence, after all, that any of his existing businesses are making ongoing money, so there's probably none left.

And he's also got a sulk on like a massive man-baby.
