Fantastic effort when that fund was started 7 weeks ago today .the original target was £100k .now it's gone past that 250k is within reach now .i think the way the donations are coming in .it will hit the £1m mark by the time August comes .

And on the GoFundMe page, and on the LOFT website, and on Twitter...

Its a fantastic effort by Orient and general football supporters throughout the country.
LOFC were always respected as a club. They had a charm which football supporters can identify with. The genuine feelings expressed on here by many of all ages, the ex players donations, is a clear indication that LOFC will never die, be it even in a different name, ground and owner or fan ownership.

Quite remarkably the only fans in the country who seem to dislike us are the more miopic Oxford supporters.

The Essex Senior League has a full complement of 24 teams so unless one of them folds we ain't going in that league.

The club may never die but it is almost certainly finished at Brisbane Road.

If the sale successfully goes through I would like LOFT to donate the funds to the club in some way. Maybe run a poll as to how best this is used, hold another meeting - but let's use the goodwill of Orient and the football world to help our club get back to the football league. The general consensus is that people around the country like us and believe we should be in the football league, bar Oxford fans, so let's use these funds to help make that happen.

If we have a sympathetic buyer £150k worth of shares would help them claw back some of the purchase price of the club plus gives LOFT a sizeable holding in the club as a way of ensuring future stability.

Win-win I reckon, well worth pitching it as an official option if it is indeed Mr Travis as suspected.

Spending it on players is a no-no really, don't think a lot of the backers from other clubs would be best pleased about subsidising someone else's promotion push. Should be about ensuring another Becchetti situation can't come about in the future and part ownership would help there as a long-term safeguard imo.

For me, two silver linings to this sorry situation has been most Os fans finally coming together and realising they have the power & need to have a much bigger stake in how our Club (and organising authorities like the EFL, for that matter) is run to stop dodgy owners causing harm, and then the fantastic solidarity shown by fans of other Clubs - like Col U did in response to the pitch protest & then this from one of our bigger historic rivals yesterday:

"We will be collecting around the ground today for the @LOFansTrust , we may be rivals on the pitch but we are all Football Family off it" [Brentford FC official twitter feed]

"Thank you to the @BrentfordFC and @Rovers fans who generously donated just over £2,000 to our Regeneration Fund collection today" [LOFT twitter]

I hope Orient fans don't forget the efforts fromm the wider football family to rally round and support us.
