Davis really needs to accept some responsibility

PostPosted by ComeOnYouOsRS » Wed Sep 13, 2017 9:37 am

Steve Davis blames the players for every bad result, and never accepts any responsibility for anything that goes wrong, and if this continues, he will lose the support of the fans

Crewe fans warned us about this, and their words are ringing in my ears

I have supported Davis since day 1, and still do, but that support is under strain now, because he wont accept any responsibility.

It is him who picks the players, it is him that plays Boco out of position last night, it is him that decides how the players will handle the oppositions big man up front, which has been poor all season etc etc

Time for Davis to hold his hands up a bit more now

Literally one of the first things he did in his post-match interview last night.

He never once accepted sole responsibility at Crewe, doubt he'll do it when he's here.

It was the fans fault against Boreham Wood really.
He blamed the players for reading social media and getting complacent, and all people are interested on Twitter is kissing the players arses in the home that they will reply and make their day.
Try reading replies to one of the 'sorry' messages after one of the players has had an mare.

I think he has avoided criticizing players too heavily so far. He's doing ok. I like him, think he has a cool and calm approach and actually analysis matches very well in interviews.

I think he's needs more time to adjust the style of football he likes us to play to what a lot of teams in the NL play. Teams play more direct and have players built for that style. Davis will have to accept that and gear up accordingly . He and Lingy might need to look at some loan options IMO.
His management style seems very relaxed and laid back and that how he comes across in interviews - the fans probably want to see a bit more passion at times but that's not his way.
For me this season is all a learning curve on how to gear up for next season and the type of squad we need.

We were a penalty shootout away from the Championship a few years ago and now our fans think it's acceptable that we shouldn't be aiming for promotion from the Conference. Embarrassing.

If you're happy with mid table then Favevis is definitely the right man for the job.

Agree completely. He blamed the players after borehamwood and after last nights game. They need to take responsibility but so does he. If he continues to shify his blame i doubt the players will respect him for long.

Davis needs to share SOME of the blame, but if Boco can`t score from Two yards and Harrold from a similar distance, then its the players who should shoulder most of the blame.
I doubt we will get promoted this season, but the season is far from over and we`re just a few points behind Sutton, who lead today, but probably won`t by Saturday.
Its that sort of league where, so far, there aren`t any outstanding teams, with the top spot changing hands every week.
