The best film he ever made was "The Man Who Haunted Himself" where he plays himself as two characters, one good, one evil. Catch it if you can. In his autobiography he says it is the only film he ever made where did proper acting. Never took himself too seriously which is why he never made as many good films as he could and should've done. RIP

Remember him well, the Blue Peter presenter of my childhood along with Valerie Singleton and Peter Purves. The days when all children needed was toilet rolls, yoghurt pots and sticky backed plastic!

Watch the You Tube clip of John Noakes climbing up Nelson's Column in 1977. The man must have had nerves of steel. Makes my palms sweat just watching it!
