Disabling User-specific Private Messages

PostPosted by city slacker » Mon Dec 01, 2014 9:17 pm

If you don't want to receive PMs from a specific member, you can have them deleted before they reach your inbox.

Go to User Control Panel
Click Private Messages
Click Rules, folders & settings

Under the Add New Rule section, select:
Sender - Click Next
is user - Click Next
type in their username - Click Next
Delete Message, Click Add rule.

This will automatically delete all new private messages sent from that user.

You can also report any private message to the moderator by clicking the report button at the top of the message.

I've used it and it seems to work.

Doesn't stop people sending threats - just stops people receiving them.

Can you give an objective response to my suggestions re: pm's CS. Not with any agenda of retroactive punishment - just as a sensible way to move forward.

The sensible way forward is to use the sender-specific disabling feature detailed above, and report any offensive ones from anyone else when they happen. Why the hell should you care about PM's you can't see?

I'm not making any changes other Rules or operational changes before the end of my modding shift.

I've used it on one USE, but you still get a notification via email that a PM. I'd like a block function the same as Facebook.

Zanzibar, you've been quiet recently. Flounced or posting under another name?
